Thursday 21st August
spiky rocks and a hill where bears live |
Rain falls,
Mud grows,
Mud spreads.
The river runs.
Fish swim in cold pools.
Stepping stones might take you to safety.
Children run through
A forest of mysterious creatures,
Past a goblin house,
Past trees to hide in,
Clambering over spiky rocks by
The Bear’s Cave,
Past Castles and Caves,
And a tower where a princess waits,
While dragons watch from the hilltops
Skeletons wake and walk,
A wolf hunts,
A hill holds a hole,
A cave that leads nowhere,
Or anywhere.
Who knows?
But they run and run
Down to the Torrs
And the bridge to cross the river.
But there in the water
A mermaid rests on a rock
Inviting picnics....
a mermaid rests on a rock, inviting picnics |
a hole in a hill |
with many thanks to our Hayfield storymakers, artists and puppeteers!
